Hi Olivia! Thank you for being part of the Health and Fitness Travel, Strong, Healthy Women Interview Series, where we are shining a light on the importance of self-care, not as an indulgence but a necessity to reduce stress and general health issues.
Is there such a thing as a typical day for you?
There’s no such thing as a typical day for me. With a role like mine, every day is different – often a mix of meetings, events and time with the team. The one thing I do keep the same is my breakfast smoothie!
Can you share a time when you felt your health or well-being was challenged and what you did to overcome this?
I had my little girl two years ago and since then I do feel I have neglected my health and wellbeing. When I’m not working, I spend all my time with her so finding that extra ‘me’ time feels impossible sometimes.
What are your non-negotiables when it comes to health and how do you keep this at the forefront when life becomes too busy?
1. Take the stairs
2. Always have healthy snacks on my desk
3. Stay hydrated
4. Stay connected as possible with my best friends as they act as they are my biggest cheerleaders!
Have you ever taken a holiday specifically for your well-being? If so where did you go and what did you do?
I haven’t sorry! But every year we take a group of Business Chicks on a conference called Movers & Breakers and it’s an amazing chance to stop and think about where you’re going and connect with some amazing women and speakers … I get to go every year, and that kind of ticks that box!
Every woman’s idea of self-care is different, please tell us about yours?
If I can find a few minutes every day to myself, even if it’s just five mins to read a few pages of a book at the end of the day, I’m happy!
